Our Story

A Light for Filipino Cuisine

"Lampara" means lantern — and from the beginning, the bistro was conceived as a guiding light for Philippine cooking. Founded in 2019 by six passionate graduates of Enderun Colleges, Lámpara set out to do something rare in Poblacion: honor Filipino flavors without apology, while pushing their expression forward.

Chefs RJ Ramos from Samar and Alphonse Sotero from Iloilo lead the kitchen, drawing from the regional diversity that makes Filipino food so extraordinary. Their approach is one of quiet reverence — taking beloved dishes and Filipino pantry staples, then applying modern technique and creativity to reveal new dimensions.

The result: a dining room where the food is both surprising and deeply familiar — a Michelin Bib Gourmand experience in the heart of Poblacion.
