Our Story
Six friends. One vision. A bistro that lights up the soul of Filipino cuisine.
How It All Began
Lámpara — the Filipino word for lamp — was founded in 2019 by six co-founders who believed that Filipino food deserved more than a heritage label. It deserved a stage where bold flavors, thoughtful technique, and genuine hospitality could shine together.
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Poblacion, Makati, the bistro set out to reinterpret familiar Filipino dishes — the kind that conjure memories of family kitchens — through the lens of modern cooking and high-quality local sourcing. The result: cuisine that feels both intimately recognizable and excitingly new.
From the very beginning, Lámpara earned a loyal following for its willingness to push beyond the expected. The pulpo inasal, the dinuguan-inspired dinuckdakan, the lamb shank adobo — each plate a quiet act of cultural storytelling.
Explore MenuWhat Drives Us
Every dish begins with a Filipino story. We study regional traditions, family recipes, and forgotten techniques to ensure our cooking honors the breadth of Philippine culinary history.
Heritage alone is not enough. We apply modern cooking methods, careful plating, and precise technique to transform beloved flavors into experiences that stand proudly on any world stage.
Poblacion is our home, and Lámpara is its dining room. We source locally, celebrate Filipino producers, and strive to be a space where every guest feels genuinely welcome.
What We Stand For
We prioritize Filipino-grown produce, proteins, and spirits wherever possible — building relationships with local farmers and artisans who share our standards.
Michelin recognition is an honor, not a reason to be unapproachable. Lámpara is a neighborhood bistro at heart — warm, spirited, and built for real people.
Our craft cocktail program draws on Philippine botanicals, local spirits, and indigenous flavor pairings. A drink here is never an afterthought.
The menu shifts with the seasons and with our curiosity. We never stop learning from Philippine culinary traditions — and we never stop experimenting.
